The Ministry of Agriculture, natural resources and environments of Cyprus has given to inhabitants of the island one month and half on that they have registered their exotic house animals. According to official representatives of the department, the given measure is directed on observance of the law forbidding introduction in an environment of Cyprus of alien animals and plants. The list of obligatory animals for registration included mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fishes and birds, among whith snakes, crocodiles, monkeys, raccoons, birds of prey. Nobody wants to confiscate exotic representatives of fauna. " Our purpose - only to register animals so that they could be supervised ", - the representative of the ministry has explained. In future the one who will wish to bring home " unknown animal ", should submit preliminary the corresponding application to Service on protection of an environment of Cyprus. I love very much animals, but to carry them with myself is a torture!
